JULIA BOADLE

Founder & Director

Julia’s background is in languages and art history. After reading French and Spanish at Kings College, London University, she turned her focus to art history and graduated with an MA (Distinction) in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London.  Julia speaks French, Spanish and Italian.

Having spent 10 years living in Asia, Julia returned to London and for many years lectured for museums and leading cultural institutions throughout Europe.  She then went into partnerhsip with a US colleague, establishing a London office to coordinate special travel programmes for Patrons of major US museums and institutions to destinations in Europe and the United States.  Julia subsequently turned her focus back to the United Kingdom: she founded ArtsAbroad and now works closely with major UK museums, galleries, and performing arts institutions, organising specialist travel programmes for their Patrons to destinations throughout Europe, Northern Africa, the United States, Latin America and Asia.


ALEX WITCOMB

Associate Director

With a background as a linguist, Alex has extensive experience working with high-level cultural groups around the world. Prior to co-founding ArtsAbroad, he spent six years at Martin Randall Travel where he supervised their extensive range of tours in Italy and was chief operator on a series of cultural cruises, organising complex itineraries of private visits, concerts in historic venues and excursions throughout Europe and North Africa. 

In his role as Associate Director, Alex has fostered close relationships with clients and has led tours throughout Europe, Asia, South America and the US. His in-depth knowledge of both classical and contemporary art and his excellent communication skills continue to expand ArtsAbroad’s network of contacts across the globe. 

Alex's erudite manner and exceptional talents for organisation have led to clients describing his work as “a logistical triumph”, and to Alex as “fantastically efficient, very well informed, kind and fun to be with”.


GIORGIA MIS

Operations Director

Giorgia’s wide knowledge of the international visual and performing arts scenes derives from her experience with artists, curators, festival and museum directors, through whom she has built a considerable network of contacts.  She has many years experience planning travel programmes for visual and performing arts institutions worldwide.
